Is all that we see or seem, but a dream within a dream…

Okay so the premise of Inception is pretty far out. Putting dreamers in additional dream states within a third dream state. And the cinematic first for the longest shot of a van falling from a bridge into a river. It makes Wiley Coyote's tumbles into the canyon look like action footage. (Did that even make sense?)

So there's a bit of the Matrix and James Bond and Edgar Allen Poe inside Inception. And all I need to say beyond that is the 2:30+ running time does drag a tiny bit at the end, because you know what's coming, but… that said, it's an amazing ride. I'd a had fewer shots of the van falling, but that's just me.

All the hype about Inception being a "must see in the theater" might be a bit over the top. And the checkout boy at the grocery store who said he'd seen it three times already, well, that's a bit much. It's a good movie, but it's not that good. The Matix, yes, Inception, perhaps.
