[The King Google saga continues with this post: King Google Kills My AdSense Account & My Dreams]
The following email arrived this morning. And without warning my ads turned white and my $10 per month revenue stream was shut off. And the most disconcerting part, the highlighted line below.
So I went to the appeals page. And I read the possible causes for my site to be disabled. Since Google says they can't provide any specific information about my account. (In case I'm a spammer/scammer.)
I did post this on my site until this morning.

Maybe this was a violation of the promotional standards. Okay, so I took that down. And I requested a review. I have done nothing out of the ordinary. And here was their response about an hour later.
The only thing I can think of is my Dec. 25 success (Seeking the Hit Post) set off some kind of scam alarm. But it was legit. And Google can see from the Analytics that it was a Reddit post that caused my post to spike. Hardly a scammer.
I also sent along a screenshot of my recent GOOGLE ANALYTICS for uber.la, so they could see that my spike was not from fraud.
Okay, so here's a bit of the fine print in your AdSense agreement. (Found on the answers page.)
So Google, you are telling me if I click on my own ads? (I probably did this 10 times total in the last 2 weeks since I started Adsense.) But that in order to be able to SEE where the ad goes you have to install the CHROME extension Google Publisher Toolbar? NICE. Thanks for the heads up.
Let's see what the "toolbar" has to offer.
What recourse do I have at this point? More from the AdSense Support Page:
Um, okay, so that means, we might just turn you off, leave you off, and quit responding to your requests for review. Regardless of who you are, how long you've been an AdSense or AdWords customer.
Basically, Google reserves the right to turn your ass off and forget about you.
So what ad networks are out there besides Google's AdSense? Could this have been a deliberate attack from someone who wanted to disable my account?
Let's see. Let me count the ways Google has my ass in a sling.
- G-Mail
- Google Apps
- Google Drive
- Google Adwords
- Google Analytics
- Google Voice
- Google Calendar
- Google Maps
- Google Plus (w/ Hangouts)
So if King Google decides I "demonstrate behavior toward users or advertisers that may negatively impact how the ecosystem is perceived" the I am SOL. I've heard of people having their GMail accounts locked up. Heck I've even had Twitter disable an account for a few days, for SUSPECTED violations, that were NOT HAPPENING.
Dear Google, you are the KING, and I bow to you. However, a good ruler grants his subjects the right to … Wait a minute, the King doesn't have to do shit if he doesn't want to. In fact, "Off with his head," is a perfectly legitimate refrain. Just cause he feels like it.
So if you worry about privacy, that's one thing. Google knows ever search you've ever made as long as you've been an IP address. And they hold all the cards on your GMail account as well.
Maybe depending on Google for everything golden and free is not such a good idea. I'm gonna need to look at Zoho's products. And maybe BING's Ad system. (Nah, just kidding about that one.)
With luck, the King will grant me a second audience today or tomorrow and reinstate my good citizenship and allow my $10 a month AdSense program to continue. I promise never to click on my own ad again. (I might have done this about twice, just to see what the ad was about, not to drive the 0.002 that I might earn from the click.
So I guess this post might actually hurt my appeal to the King. For all I know this is my declaration to being an enemy of the state and shortly all of my above accounts will be suspended. But if Google thought I was a spammer, couldn't the LOOK at my GMail and Google Analytics? Yes, they could. So they ask for more proof that I'm not scamming the system. THEY'RE HOLDING ALL THE CARDS. It's a little like 1984. Being accused of something, not being told what it was, and being asked to present evidence to the contrary. Even though King Google has all the data of everything, even my web surfing. Do you think they would MISS my attempts to scam my own account? Not likely. So what happened. I may never know, and obviously that's not a problem for THE KING.
