Okay, since I am preaching WordPress so often these days I thought I would give my TOP WordPress hint of all time.
I am certain I worked in WordPress for months before I discovered this little shortcut that makes a huge difference in the interface.

WordPress Dashboard - Normal Mode
And now the hint. See the line and little arrow/circle thingy between the Dashboard and Posts panels. Click it and see what happens.

WordPress Dashboard - collapsed with rollover nav
And now there's even one more BIG addition if you work in WordPress a lot. It is a plugin that adds even more navigation power. It adds a menu ribbon at the top of the page, even when you are not in the Dashboard. From within the site itself (one that you are an admin for) the management options are available. Here is a link to the WP Admin-Bar.
Using the prefs panel you can specify what you want to be available on the admin bar. And you can decide if you want it available on the site or just in the admin area. It is amazing to go from a live post directly into an advanced edit function with one pulldown click.

So use either the collapsed dashboard menus or the wp-admin bar plugin and get some work done. Yah!
