… love letters to my wife …

Category: about mejmacofearth @ 7:35 am

… would I simply put them up if I were writing love letters for my wife?  I think I would try and spread them around the web, tuck them into interesting places, and see if I could get them to appear on her SEO radar. So where would I start?

twitter cartoons

Would I let her know it's okay not to read everything a write?

Would I try and write them about something else so in case she was following that day it wouldn't appear I was being overtly self-depreciating or too gushy?

Would I admit my faults in public to show that I can see when I am out of balance? Or would that be grandstanding? Would that be too public?

How do you blog about love, if love is not the topic that you blog about? Perhaps I should blog about the love part more and the hard-at-work part less. I don't know… I'm fishing around here for an answer.

Would I write a song?

Maybe I would just try to show her how sensitive and smart I am at the same time.

No probably I would just add a video that sums up how I'm feeling. I know I already took credit for the link, now the embedded video.

But I couldn't just tell her I published my love letter. I can't say to her, "Happy Valentine's day honey, I've written something I'd like to you read." Nope. I'll make coffee, perhaps breakfast in bed. I will give her a nice package of eco-sustainable jewelry. But this little post… Dare I hit the "publish" button less she get mad at my stunt? I have written it to send her a public message:

I love you. I am still trying to woo and empress you. And I promise to only write one love letter post per year, on a day just like today, February 14, 2010. Oh, and I promise not to self-promote this.

Sometimes We Miss: Other Times We Are Like Birds on a Branch Together

This might just be one of those magical moments in time, when all things new are uber-new and all possibilities are uber-possibilities.

In this rainy week in ATX we've suffered near freezing temps, sleet, crappy apps, really slow internet access and even a cold to jolly things up a bit.

So what's up with that?

The picture from Ira Tviga reminds me of the magic in the darkness and unknown. There is wonder and beauty in not knowing what is coming next. There is "beginner's mind" inside the moment of frustration that causes us to finally lash out. There is power and momentum in our group, this little team of 14 that rocked the vault last night in Austin.

And still we have misses, runny noses, headaches, and sleepless nights. But it's on the up-side of down. On the growth side of economic depression. On the good side of the fall. Or as the band I was end was called, the Felix Culpa, or happy accident.

All these things bring/brought/deliver us to this very moment in time where we say, "No." Or where we shout "YES!" to the things we have been denying. Tonight is such a night. Tomorrow morning will be a Friday of great promise. And President's day will provide a 3rd day of the weekend for us to play, frolic and make joy amongst ourselves and our friends.

Go forth. The miss you have been feeling is telling you something. Oh and if Valentines Day is Sunday, we are even doubly blessed to be so loved! We are!
