Billionaires Behaving Like Bullies

Yesterday, in the *news,* Mark Zuckerberg claimed Elon Musk wasn’t serious about their cage match and said it’s “time to move on.” Musk responded, “Zuck is a chicken.” Our two bully billionaires are duping us about a “fight.” Let’s do it in VR you idiots. Musk, you use whatever device you can buy that isn’t owned by Meta.

Not all billionaires care about you, the planet, or your privacy. 🤠

This is not fake news, this is grifting. Neither of these assh*les is going to fight. Like a cage match is in their future? Hardly. It’s a PR stunt that’s getting both men a lot of ink. I’d rather Mr. Musk pilot the first manned mission to Mars, ASAP. And Mr. Meta? I mean, you know he is the first fully autonomous AI robot, right? I mean, look at the haircut, the dead eyes, the smile that seems spiteful rather than happy. Like POE in Netflix’s Altered Carbon, Mr. Zuck has little motivation beyond crushing all marketing competition for your social media eyeballs and demographics.

Facebook is not a social media company. It’s a marketing company. And they are selling you, your wall, and your personal information. Do you know those “See who your soulmate is?” quizzes on FB? Guess what, they are often run by companies outside the US, without restrictions on the use of personal data, and they are MINING your ‘friends.’ As you invite, friends to fill out the quiz too, you are giving the company, wherever they are, to suck in your data and my data and all of your connected “friends” data. This is what makes FB so valuable to advertisers.

Privacy is killing Facebook more than monetization.

At first “organic reach” was squeezed to death. Today, about 20 people see your posts on a regular basis. The same 20 people. Open your FB page, go to your profile, and look at the nine-photo grid of your top “friends.” This is your audience. We used to get about 5% organic reach. In the early days, there was nearly 100% reach, because not that many people are creating content.

But when Apple enhanced their privacy measures on the iPhone and allowed customers to “use only while using the app” and “do not track outside of app” options, the advertiser targeting on FB got a lot more challenging. On your Apple device, FB cannot ‘track’ your movements outside of FB. Not sure where Android is on this security and privacy measure. It immediately crushed FB’s advertising effectiveness. Dropping ad interaction rates from 3 – 5 % to about 1%. Giving FB a taste of their own medicine.

Let’s encourage these two buffoon-barons to actually get in a cage and punch/kick each other. I’m guessing Zuck is in heavy martial arts and MMA training. Musk is getting high with Rogan and blaming everyone else for the demise of X and his plans for a universal app for everything. He’s more deluded than a kitten on catnip.

For comparison, here is GPT’s summary of the match.

“In a recent turn of events, Mark Zuckerberg responded to Elon Musk’s previous statement about a potential cage match between the two tech giants. Zuckerberg dismissed Musk’s suggestion, stating that he believed Musk wasn’t serious about the challenge. The lighthearted exchange between the CEOs showcased their playful rivalry and added a touch of humor to the ongoing interactions between their respective companies.” – chatGPT 3.5.
