The planet is on fire. AI is coming for not only our jobs, but our electricity, our future, and the future of our children. If you’ve got kids these days, please pay attention. The C and D student are toast. There’s going to be nothing for them to do, once the AI juggernaut has raised its powerful head. They can work at a bar, in a restaurant, in the service industry that will still require human bodies. Less humans, but some parts of our work lives will not be scrapped by the emergence of ChatGPT and its followers.
The Billionaire to GOP Connection
Donald Trump gave the wealthy the biggest tax cut in history. And if you’ve heard them demanding cost-cutting over the last year, you’d think they’d completely forgotten that 25% of our national deficit is this exact tax cut. It’s good for billionaires and millionaires. Not so good for you or me.
Do you wonder why Mr. Musk bought Twitter for 44 billion dollars? It’s all part of the “free speech” lie he’s been credited with. He purchased Twitter to influence the 2024 election. He can shape the algorithm controlling what you and I see when we’re on his website. Wonder why “Elon Musk” and his associated accounts are always trending on Twitter? He’s purchased the biggest platform for unregulated speech on the web. Yes, I know they are moderating the tweets. Moderating them to the advantage of any topic Mr. Musk thinks you should be focused on.
Why he murdered the bird I may not ever understand, but it was enough to get me to kill my three main Twitter accounts which had about 40,000 followers, combined. He canceled himself. It’s now called X. Yeah, good luck with that. Not only do multiple companies (including FB) have trademarks on that name. But heck, he’s been trying to find a use for the domain for years. It’s what Elon wanted to call PayPal. I don’t think it’s going to go over well. It’s too SEX-DRIVEN. X.com XX.com and XXX.com. All have the same feel, don’t you think?
If The Russians Love Their Children Too
If the GOP love their children then how can they rationalize climate change denial? Do they think they can build better air conditioning units that will protect them and their inner circle? Does Musk plan to leave planet Earth with a small group of young women, to populate Mars? Do the really rich imagine that their money will protect them from the environmental collapse that is underway? It’s like a horrible sci-fi movie. Except we are watching it in slow motion, like the frog in the boiling pot. The news is dripped to us daily. And, it’s not hard to imagine that some media is spinning the news by hiding and obscuring the truth.
The truth is, we’re setting ourselves on fire. And outside the frying pan, at the moment we have nowhere else to go.
Why Spin the Lies?
Just as Mr. Trump did before the last election, he is sewing lies. The election is rigged. Now, the trials are rigged. Everything is rigged against him. Of course, it is. So, why is Elon Musk, Zuckerberg, Bezos, and the rest of the multi-billionaire companies supporting Trump? Why is the GOP (made up of a lot of millionaires as well) still carrying Trump’s water? They know the lie. They know the insurrection was real. And they are still in favor of putting Mr. Trump in power again?
Do they want another tax break? Do they want Trump and Co to crush environmental science and mitigation efforts? Do they want us to get out of the Paris Accord again, as we’ve just gotten back in? What’s fueling the GOP’s rush to give the worst president in history another shot at taking us back to the dark ages? I guess it won’t be too dark if we’re all on fire.
I’m watching the science and the politics unfold just like you. Every night, every indictment, every news story, I’m confused what the RICHIE RICH plan is. If the rich love their children too, don’t they understand how every action by Donald Trump is hurting the future of life on Earth?
